Pep and Lyndi,

Love the at home pictures. There's lots of love floating around your house. Told you so!

Jessie and I disagree about diapers. In a few days or a week when you take turns changing him in the night, you will find the most amazing surprise. You love getting up to a poopy diaper because it's time you two can spend alone and in love. It is such a precious few months when he will be so totally reliant on you for his survival and comfort, and he will pay you back hundred times over, alone in the middle of the night when you save him from the icky dirty diaper that he is helpless to deal with. That is when I found the quiet,
overwhelming rewards only a new born gives. He tugs on your heart when he looks at you with love because you are "caring" for him. I also think this is nature's plan to keep parents from abandonning teenagers. Newborns create a love in you that you can never shake, so when they get a "bit tough" as they mature, you still keep 'em around. You two are just discovering the unbreakable connection between parents and offspring. Enjoy!

And Pep, just think when you were Gavin, social norms and financial responsibilities completely shut out the dad from the experience. Aren't you glad you got to see him come into this world and give him his first bath, instead of hear about it later? How lucky babies and parents are today. Hang in there...soccer is coming soon!

Love,
GA &GU Susie and Steve

PS
Janie just lives for the new pictures on your blog, but her house isn't wired for internet and she can't afford to have that done, so she looks at the at her nannie job, but she doesn't feel she can start an account on their computer. She saw the new ones last night and called and told us about them. She is also forwarding them to Cathy who insists Gavin is the most beautiful baby she has ever seen. Jane is moving in with Robin from the airlines next month, so she'll be wired, pay less rent, have a friend, save tons on gas and be eight minutes from school and work.
